The two quotes above are from  Confucius, who is one of the most quoted person ever.
Confucius  emphasizes on the relations between thinking and learning. 

I need to  keep in mind that the reflection of any knowledge which I  learn helps to set a criteria to apply the knowledge. When I try to  interweave the reflection  with the experience of what I  already know and  with what I  am learning now, the learning fulfills its goals.
I should be wise enough to save myself from the misinformation and misapplication through the reflection.
